Cilacap, October 22, 2025. The Indonesian Vocational Higher Education Leaders Association (PPAVI) has successfully held the 5th PPAVI Congress from October 20–22, 2025, at the Aston Inn Hotel, Cilacap. This event serves as a strategic momentum in strengthening the direction and role of vocational higher education in Indonesia amidst the dynamics of global change.
The congress was organized by the committee from the Nusantara Maritime Academy Cilacap, ensuring that the series of activities ran smoothly and effectively.
The congress was attended by representatives from 26 higher education institutions providing vocational education from various regions in Indonesia. Over the three days of the event, the atmosphere of the congress was filled with a spirit of collaboration, idea exchange, and a shared commitment to promote the advancement of vocational education that is relevant to industry needs.
Carrying the theme “Facing the Challenges and Opportunities of the Future of Vocational Higher Education in Indonesia,” this congress became a space for reflection as well as projection for vocational institutions in responding to technological developments, the transformation of the workforce, and future competency demands.
The series of congress activities featured national and international speakers who provided strategic perspectives, including Wikan Sakarinto, L. Manik Mustikohendro, and Urs Rolf Keller. The presentations highlighted the importance of strengthening the industry-based vocational education ecosystem, utilizing technology, and enhancing the quality of adaptive and competitive human resources.
In addition to presentation sessions, the congress also served as a forum for strategic discussions among institutional leaders in formulating concrete steps for the development of vocational education, including strengthening collaborative networks, curriculum innovation, and enhancing connections with the business and industrial sectors.
With the successful holding of this 5th Congress, PPAVI reaffirms its commitment as a collaborative platform in promoting the transformation of vocational education in Indonesia to be more excellent, adaptive, and impactful for national development.
