The Perhimpunan Pimpinan Akademika Vokasi Indonesia (PPAVI), formerly known as PAPKI, was established on June 8, 2007 during the National Assembly of Catholic Academies and Polytechnics in Indonesia, held at Panti Samadi Klender, Jakarta.
PAPKI was initiated by three pioneering vocational higher education institutions:
Under the auspices of the Education Commission of the Indonesian Bishops Conference (KWI), PAPKI was founded with the mission to enhance and develop the quality and reputation of Catholic vocational education in Indonesia.
On May 20, 2021, coinciding with Indonesia’s National Awakening Day, PAPKI was officially transformed into PPAVI and recognized as a legal entity by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia through the national legal administration system.
Despite this transformation, PPAVI continues to uphold the same identity, vision, mission, and core objectives established since its founding.

PPAVI is a community of education united by Jesus, the Bread of Life, who strengthens both body and spirit, and is called to grow together in building excellent Catholic education.
To become a collaborative community of Catholic vocational higher education providers that is high-quality, synergistic, and adaptive to the dynamic changes of society and science and technology.
To support Catholic vocational higher education institutions in achieving quality excellence and enabling transformation in response to societal and technological developments.
PPAVI carries out various strategic programs, including:
